How to play

• Swipe across the letters in one movement and release to submit, or tap them and select Connect.
• On a keyboard, type the letters, press Enter to submit, Backspace to undo a letter and Escape to clear.
• Words need at least three letters, and each letter tile can be used once per word.
• Find every word in the crossword to complete the trail and open the next one.

Coins, discoveries and hints

• You begin with 100 coins.
• Discoveries: real words that are not in the crossword earn 3 coins each, once per trail.
• A little light: spend 25 coins to reveal one letter in the crossword.
• Completing a trail earns 20 coins; the daily escape earns 35. Coins are earned only by playing.

Tips for finding words

• Count the spaces. The crossword tells you how long each missing word is. Look for words of exactly that length.
• Look for endings. If the wheel has the letters for -ED, -ER, -ING, -LY or a final S, try them on shorter words you have already found.
• Try the longest word early. The longest slot often uses most of the wheel, and its letters cross many other words.
• Use crossings. A letter already showing in the grid narrows a word down quickly.
• Shuffle. A fresh arrangement of the same letters often makes a hidden word jump out.
• Collect discoveries. Extra words pay for the little lights you will need on harder trails.

Trails and the daily escape

Trails are arranged in collections of 50. The first are short and gentle; later trails use up to eight letters and seven words, through the Stillwater Coast, the Amber Highlands and the Moonlit Reach.
