Wella’s Garden Quest guide

Wella’s Garden Quest is a cosy match-3 game: swap fruit and flowers, win stars, and help Wren the gardener bring four faded gardens back to life. Here is everything the game does, and how to get through the levels that feel impossible.

The basics

Swap two neighbouring pieces to line up three or more of the same kind. Each level has goals to complete within a set number of moves. Win the level to earn a star, then spend stars on the garden jobs Wren has marked: mow the lawn, restore the fountain, revive the roses.

There are four gardens to restore: the Front Lawn, the Fountain Court, the Rose Garden and the Orchard. A letter is waiting when each one is finished, and the levels keep going after that for coins, chests and high scores.

Special pieces

  • Firecracker: match 4 in a row. It clears a whole line.
  • Bomb: match in an L or T shape.
  • Rainbow: match 5 in a row, then swap it with a piece to clear every piece of that colour.
  • Combos: swap two special pieces together for a giant effect.

Garden obstacles

  • Grass: make a match on top of it to mow it.
  • Crates: match right next to them to break them.
  • Chains: use the chained piece in a match to free it.
  • Acorns: bring them down to the bottom of the board.

Tools, lives and coins

  • Shovel clears one tile. Rake clears a row and a column. Glove swaps any two neighbouring pieces.
  • Before a level you can start with a Bomb or a Rainbow already on the board.
  • Out of moves? Spend coins on +5 moves. Coins also buy tools and refill lives.
  • You have 5 lives. You lose one when you fail a level or leave it early, and they refill one every 20 minutes.
  • Every ten wins fills a treasure chest with coins and tools. Coins are earned only by playing; there are no real-money purchases.

Tips for hard levels

  • Read the goals first. A level asking for acorns is won at the bottom of the board; a level full of grass is won by matching across the whole board.
  • Match low on the board. Matches near the bottom make more pieces fall, which means more chance of free cascades.
  • Build specials before spending moves on single matches. One rainbow can do the work of five ordinary moves.
  • Save special pieces for a combo. Two specials next to each other are worth far more swapped together than set off one at a time.
  • Use tools on the last blocker, not the first. A Shovel at the right moment saves a life.
