The rules
One card is the active card. Play any exposed card from the tableau that is one rank higher or lower than it. Suits do not matter, and Aces connect with Kings, so a run can go from King to Ace or the other way.
Lower cards shelter the cards above them; clear them to reveal new ones. When no exposed card can be played, draw a new active card from the stock. Clear every card from the tableau to complete the level.
Stars and draws
- Each level has a stock-draw target. Finish within it for three stars; use no more than two extra draws for two stars; any other clear earns one star.
- Every three-star target is fair: it is the fewest draws needed to clear that level.
- Undoing a card play is free, but a draw always counts, even if you undo it.
Route Hint searches for a winning path through every card, including covered ones, and highlights the next card to play. Restart deals the same level again, keeping your best stars.
Strategy
- Find the longest run before you play anything. A run of five cards is far better than five separate single plays with draws in between.
- Prefer cards that uncover face-down cards. When two exposed cards both fit, play the one that reveals something new.
- Keep a bridge. If you can play a 7 or a 9 on an 8, think about which one leaves another card that fits next.
- Use the free undo to explore, then commit. Only draws are counted.
- Replay levels for three stars. Your best rating is kept.
The Atlas and its landmarks
Open the Atlas to see all twenty levels and your stars. Three are landmarks: Beacon Point (level 5), Tidekeeper’s Crossing (level 10) and Atlas Spire (level 20). Each awards one of the three Atlas fragments.
Questions
Do suits matter?
No. Only the rank matters: one higher or one lower than the active card.
Does undo cost stars?
Undoing a card play is free. Drawing from the stock always counts towards your stars, even if you undo the draw.
