What the Game Stores on Your Device
Break Royale saves a small amount of information in your browser—or in the app—so you can continue where you left off:
- The player name and country you choose, along with your rating, trophies, and wins
- Your preferences, including cloth colour, opponent, match length, shot clock, camera, graphics, and sound settings
- A session key that lets the Break Royale server recognise your player record, kept for up to 30 days at a time
Clearing the website’s data from your browser or deleting the app removes this information from your device.
Your Player Record
When you open the game and the Break Royale server can be reached, the game creates a guest player record for your device. The server is operated by us using Cloudflare. The record contains:
- A random identifier
- The player name and country you choose. The game suggests a country from your browser’s language setting; you can change it at any time.
- Your table code: four letters or numbers that friends use to join your table
- Your progress against the computer: rating, wins, losses, games played, and tournament trophies
We keep this record so your progress is safe and friends can find your table. If the server cannot be reached, everything stays on your device and nothing is sent.
Online Games (Optional)
Online games run through the Break Royale server. If the server cannot be reached, the game connects directly to your friend’s device using PeerJS, a free, open-source connection service.
- Information sent during a game: Your player name, country flag, shots, and any quick-chat phrases you select, such as “Nice shot!” or “Good game.” This information passes through the server—or directly to your opponent’s device—to keep both games synchronised. We do not store shots or chat messages.
- IP addresses: As with any online connection, Cloudflare—or, for direct games, the connection services and your opponent’s device—receives your IP address while you play. We do not use your IP address to identify you.
Anyone who knows your table code can ask to join your table, so share it only with friends you want to play.
Saved Accounts, Ranked Games, and the Leaderboard (Optional)
You may save your account with a password so you can sign in on any device with your table code. A saved account is also needed for ranked games and the leaderboard. It is not required for any other feature.
- Your password: We never store your password itself, only a salted, one-way hash of it, so no one—including us—can read it. After five wrong attempts, the account is locked for 10 minutes.
- What we store: Your player record (above), plus your online rating and total numbers of wins, losses, and games played. We also keep a record of each ranked result, including the winner, loser, rating change, and date.
- What others can see: The public leaderboard displays your player name, country flag, rating, win–loss record, and trophies. Your opponent can see your player name, country flag, and rating. Your table code is not shown on the leaderboard.
- Recovery email (optional): If you add one, we store it with your account and use it only to send your table code and a password-reset code when you ask for them, and a one-time confirmation when you add it. Emails are sent through Cloudflare. You can change or remove it on the main menu at any time.
- Sign in with Apple or Google: If these options are offered, Apple or Google verifies your identity using a signed token. We retain only the account identifier issued for Break Royale—not your email address.
Deleting Your Account
If you are signed in to a saved account, tap Delete account on the main menu, then tap it again to confirm.
Your player record, rating, progress, and any recovery email will be deleted, and your name will be removed from the leaderboard. Previous ranked results will be retained only as anonymous records.
You may also email [email protected] to request the deletion of an account or guest record. Include your table code. We will complete your request within 30 days.
Website Version
When you open the game on our website, your browser downloads the game files from our web host and the page’s fonts from Google Fonts.
As with any website, these services receive the technical information required to deliver those files, such as your IP address and browser type. They may retain this information briefly in standard server logs. We do not use it to identify you.
What the Game Does Not Do
- It does not request access to your email address, location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone.
- It does not display advertising or include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting software.
- It does not track you across other apps or websites.
Children
Break Royale is suitable for all ages. No account is needed to play.
Younger players should play online only with friends and family they know, and should use a nickname rather than their full name.
Changes to This Policy
