PassagePro is a calculation aid for watchkeepers. Its methods follow Bowditch (NGA Pub. 9); see the Bowditch module for the worked examples it reproduces. Almanac values are computed on this device: the Sun, Moon and stars agree with the Nautical Almanac to about 0.1′, but planet positions are approximate (about 1′ for Venus and Mars, several minutes of arc for Jupiter and Saturn), so take planet sights from the Nautical Almanac. Cross-check against the Nautical Almanac, official tide tables and your ECDIS before relying on any figure. Saved routes and waypoints stay in this browser only. Not for navigation: always use official charts and publications.

Credits. Coastline, place names, ports and depth bands: Made with Natural Earth (public domain). COLREG summaries are adapted from the IMO text; ECDIS symbols are drawn after IHO S-52 and are not reproduced from the IHO Presentation Library; buoyage drawings illustrate the IALA Maritime Buoyage System. Bowditch, The American Practical Navigator (NGA Pub. 9), is a US Government publication.

Trademarks. ADMIRALTY is a registered trade mark of the UK Hydrographic Office. Furuno, JRC, Wärtsilä, Navi-Sailor, Navi-Radar, NAVTOR, NavStation and NavBox are trademarks of their respective owners. PassagePro is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of these organisations.
