Nine squares · nine numbers

Privacy Policy

Effective October 27, 2026

Bill’s Sudoku does not collect any personal data. There is no account to create, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking, and we have no server. The only things the app sends over the internet go to Apple or Google: purchases, and, only if you choose to sign in, your times for the world leaderboards.

Who makes Bill’s Sudoku

Bill’s Sudoku is made by Paul Allan Manacap, an independent developer. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean the developer of Bill’s Sudoku. This policy covers the Bill’s Sudoku app for iPhone, iPad and Mac, and for Android.

What stays on your device

To work, the app keeps a few things in its own storage on your device. They never leave your device and we cannot see them.

WhatWhy
The name you enterTo greet you and cheer you on when you solve a puzzle
Your current and saved gameSo you can pick up where you left off
Your settingsMusic on or off, kanji numbers, marking wrong numbers, clearing notes
How many puzzles you have solvedTo show your count after each solve
Your times, mistakes and hintsFor your Records and your personal Leaderboard on each level

On Android, the app also keeps the date your free trial started and whether you own the full game, so the game knows what to unlock even when you’re offline.

You can change your name at any time from the round name button in the top corner of the game. Deleting the app removes all of this from your device. If your device backs up apps (iCloud backup, or Android backup to your Google Account), these settings can be included in that backup, which is stored by Apple or Google for you and never sent to us.

Free trial and purchases

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, the free 30-day trial and the full game are in-app purchases made through Apple’s App Store, and Apple handles the payment. On Android, the full game is bought through Google Play, and Google handles the payment. We never receive your payment details, your Apple Account or Google Account details, or your contact information.

To unlock content, the app checks the purchase records that Apple or Google keep for your account, through the App Store or the Play Store app on your device. This check happens on your device, and the records are not sent to us. Apple’s handling of your purchases is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy, and Google’s by the Google Privacy Policy.

World leaderboards (optional)

Each level has a world leaderboard run by Apple’s Game Center on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and by Google Play Games on Android. Using them is optional, and you sign in with your own Game Center or Google Play Games profile, not with us.

  • When you are signed in and solve a puzzle with no hints and 3 mistakes or fewer, the app sends your time and the level to Game Center or Google Play Games.
  • Other players can see your time next to your Game Center or Play Games nickname, as set in your profile.
  • If you are not signed in, nothing is sent. You can sign out, or hide your profile and scores, at any time in your device’s Game Center or Google Play Games settings.
  • We never receive these scores or your profile details, and we can’t see other players’ data. Apple’s handling is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy, and Google’s by the Google Privacy Policy.

Sharing, selling and tracking

  • We do not collect personal data, so we have none to share or sell. Leaderboard scores go straight from your device to Apple or Google, only if you sign in.
  • The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking tools.
  • The app does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier.

Children

Bill’s Sudoku is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect none from children. Apple and Google apply their own rules to children’s Game Center and Google Play Games accounts.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep no data about you, so there is nothing for us to store, keep or delete. Everything the app saves stays on your device, and you can remove it at any time by deleting the app. Leaderboard scores are kept by Apple or Google; you can manage or delete them through your Game Center or Google Play Games account. If you have a question about your data, email us and we will answer it.

Changes to this policy

If the way the app handles information ever changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
