Kingside Chess Club Help & Support

Effective October 18, 2026 · Kingside Chess Club (“Kingside”) is made and published by Paul Allan Manacap, trading as JPAM Studio. This page explains how to get help and how support works. Our Privacy Policy explains what the app keeps and why.

How to reach us

Email: [email protected]

Support page: jpam.studio/support.html

Response time: we usually reply within 1 to 2 business days (Philippine time). Account deletion requests are completed within 30 days, usually much sooner.

When you write about a problem, please tell us which device you use (for example iPhone 15, iPad, Mac or Android phone), whether you are using the App Store, Google Play or web version, and what happened. A screenshot helps a lot. Inside the app, More → Help & Support opens this page.

What is free, and what the purchase unlocks

Everything in Kingside is open for 30 days after you first start the free trial. After that:

Always freeUnlocked by the one-time purchase
Online play: rated Bullet, Blitz and Rapid games, Play with a Friend, the leaderboardsIntermediate, Advanced, Master and Grandmaster bots, and the Kingside Engine
The Daily PuzzleRated puzzles, Puzzle Rush and Puzzle Streak
All 22 lessons and the Coordinates trainerGame Review with the coach
The Beginner bots (Pip, Rosa and Tomás)Pass & Play and saved games

The purchase is a single one-time payment with no subscription and no ads; the store shows the price in your currency. It is sold by Apple in the iPhone, iPad and Mac app and by Google in the Android app, and it covers every device signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account. The web version at jpam.studio/kingside has no trial: the always-free parts are free there from your first visit, with no time limit, and the rest is in the app.

Restoring a purchase

If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, open More → Kingside Chess Club Full Version → Restore purchase while signed in to the same Apple Account or Google account you bought with. Nothing is charged again. If the purchase does not come back, email us with the date of purchase and the store you bought from.

Refunds

Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are too. On Apple devices, request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, use the refund option in Google Play or Google’s refund request form. We cannot issue refunds ourselves, but if you have trouble with a request, write to us and we will help where we can.

Online play

Online play needs an internet connection and a player profile: a name and your country, chosen inside the app. No email or password is required. Your profile stays on the device where you made it; if that device forgets it (for example after clearing a browser’s data), you simply create a profile again.

Computer players. Real players come first. When nobody is waiting for your time control, you are matched with one of Kingside’s own computer players. They are always marked Computer next to their name: on the board, in results, on their profile and on the leaderboard. Games against them are rated like any other game. Anyone without the Computer label is a real person.

Fair play. The server checks every move and runs the clocks. A game is aborted if the first move is not made within 30 seconds, and if a player disconnects for 45 seconds their opponent may claim the win. Using an engine or any outside help in a rated game is not allowed; accounts that do so may be removed.

Reporting and blocking players

Online chat is limited to a short list of preset phrases, and usernames are checked at sign-up and on rename. If a username or a player’s behaviour still bothers you, open their profile and tap Report or Block. Reports come to us and are reviewed within a few days; names that break our rules are changed, and repeat offenders are removed. You can also email us.

Deleting your online account

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete online account under your name, or open your own profile under Play → Online. This permanently removes your username, country and ratings from the server. Your opponents’ results remain, with your name shown as “Deleted player.” You can also email us with your username and country and we will delete the profile within 30 days and confirm by reply.

Lost progress

Your settings, bot and puzzle ratings and game history are saved only on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. Clearing a browser’s data, using a private window, or deleting and reinstalling the app resets them. Your purchase is never lost: see Restoring a purchase above.

Accessibility

Kingside follows your device’s text size setting, and its buttons and controls carry labels for VoiceOver and TalkBack. If something is hard to use, please tell us; accessibility reports are treated as bugs.

Changes

If this page changes, the new version is published here with a new effective date.
